Pueblo, CO – Chavez Huerta K-12 Preparatory Academy (CHPA) is appealing a non-renewal decision by Pueblo School District 60, set for review by the Colorado Board of Education on May 15, 2025. Despite strong academic performance and financial stability, CHPA faces resistance from the District, which also blocked CHPA’s bid for a new charter with the Charter School Institute. Supported by the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, CHPA remains confident in its legal battles and is actively preparing for the 2025-2026 school year, celebrating achievements like 100% of its 43 graduating seniors earning college credits.
